Economic Impact Study Under Review

The first draft of the GMSQA commissioned economic impact study titled "The Economic Contribution of the Vermont Slate Quarry Industry" has been prepared and is currently being reviewed by association members. The study aims to show the importance of the the Slate Industry to the surrounding region and more broadly the state of Vermont.

In the study, the slate industry is presented as an important economic engine that supports not only itself, but many other businesses throughout the Slate Valley and other nearby areas. Survey results supplemented by public data of the Vermont slate industry was used to formulate the conclusions.
